We all know the internet is a fast-paced environment. Things are constantly evolving and changing with trends coming and going as technology pushes forward the boundaries of what’s possible.
A quick glance around the interwebs now and you’ll see most business or corporate websites are based on static information. Functionally, they aren’t much more complex than a brochure – Who they are, what they do, why people should buy their product or use their services and how to get in contact with them.
But this will change.
The next generation was born into a world with internet. In the same way that we may find it difficult to imaging life without TV or radio, these gen y’s will find it odd to think of life without the internet.
Using a website is swiftly becoming more about dynamic presentation of personalised information and functional convenience than purely static information and multi-national corps and small local businesses alike are going to have to convert this new philosophy.
In the same way that GPS navigation will eventually replace printed maps, much of what is done on paper or over the phone today will be replaced by internet based functions and programs.
The web right now is still very much in it’s infancy and we’re going to see some exciting and drastic changes to the way we use it in the coming years.

An interesting outlook, although as a sceptic and helpdesk technician, i do believe the majority of people are still somewhat slow on the uptake when it comes to operating a home computer, so I think it will be quite a while before we notice any drastic changes like you proclaim.

In response to “Apple Juice”:
its coming a lot faster then you think, with the newest smart phones, such as the iPhone, and the Blackberry Bold and Storm. your normal everyday person is now taking their computer, and websites, portable. so this means people will be getting on the net much more often, and much easier. peoples lives are already revolving around things like facebook, emails, news websites.
And yes, even little old grannies have iPhones, and know how to use them.
I too am a helpdesk technician, and yes some people may not understand all the complexities of computers, but they still want to get out on there and use them.

Nitemare, why is it you don’t capitalize your sentences? I hope it’s not that you find you’re just too busy to bother hitting the shift key. Forms of media may be changing but grammar still counts.

Yes very true, Internet revolution is yet to be delivered to mankind with super fast connections & no existence of things like TV, or long cues where people have to wait for hours to see their favorite thing or even pay some invoice.
Internet will deliver all that stuff so fast that no one have imagined before!
